Asylums Seekers
Refugees
There is a great
need for an understanding and awareness by service providers of what
issues affect asylum seekers and refugees. This course will assist
delegates to develop a greater insight into these issues by thinking
through their assumptions and preconceptions in a safe environment.
Diversity Inclusion Training
Diversity in this context covers gender, age, language, ethnicity,
cultural background, sexual orientation, religious belief and family
responsibilities. Diversity also refers to the other ways in which
people are different, such as educational level, life experience,
work experience, socio-economic background, personality and marital
status. Workplace diversity involves recognising the value of
individual differences and managing them in the workplace.
Gender Equality
Duty
The
Gender Equality Duty [GED] requires public authorities to promote
equality between women and men and eliminate unlawful sex
discrimination and harassment. This means the public sector will
have to develop policies, design services and have employment
practices with the different needs of women and men in mind. The
duty covers all the functions of a public authority, such as
policy-making, public services, and employment.
