Recruit Assessment Training

What is recruit assessment?

Recruit assessments have been being used in America for a long time and have proved a valuable technique to recruiting new staff. It does not replace the application, short-listing and interview process, it is used in addition to these processes to evaluate each applicant’s potential.

Britain is slowly catching up and the popularity of recruit assessment is growing.

For those of you who have experience of employing staff we ask you to reflect on the following two questions.

How much do you really know about a perspective employee when you have interviewed them?

Have you employed people only to find that their attitude or aptitude is not suited to the work they have applied for?

Recruit assessment is a process of observing applicants doing a variety of tasks that gives an insight into their potential working practices.

The result of the observations are collated in the form of a report which will give you, the Company, a valid prediction of what to expect from an applicant before you interview them.

An applicant will be monitored on not only what they do, but the way they do it.

Assessment processes can also be used to ascertain training needs of teams and individuals of existing staff. For more information on these, see Team Assessment, Individual Assessment and Role Play Assessment
